When sunlight (photons) shines on one of the cell faces it creates an electrical current which can be used as an energy source. Solar panels used in our homes to create electrical power are also known as photovoltaic panels, which are currently the most common.<\/p>\n<p>Photovoltaic energy has evolved over time, before it was mainly used by large companies but today SMEs and individuals have chosen to be self-generators and self-consumers, because photovoltaic systems can save up to 80% of the cost of the electricity bill.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of these panels has dropped due to the latest undergone development and economy scale in their manufacturing, meaning the average cost of the electricity generated is quite low-or even cheaper than other traditional energy sources.<\/p>\n<p>The current price per kWh with photovoltaic energy is \u20ac0.10\/kWh, is guaranteed for 20 years.
